Colin Croudace grew up in Zululand, South Africa. On leaving school and completing his military service, he started his forestry career. While working in forestry operations for 37 years, he has held management positions in the harvesting, silviculture, fire protection, road construction, heavy equipment and pulp mill logistics fields in South Africa, Sumatra in Indonesia and Sarawak in Malaysia. He worked for major world class pulp and paper businesses during this period. Colin is a qualified forester, having studied for a Diploma and later a Higher Diploma at Saasveld Forestry College.

PÖYRY FOREST INDUSTRY PTY LTD recruited Colin Croudace as Forestry General Manager for Cloudy Bay Sustainable Forestry Ltd Forestry. Colin is responsible for the forestry and sawmilling operations at the Cloudy Bay Forest Management Area, Abau District, Central Province. Before joining Poyry, Colin was managing the pine and eucalyptus plantations for a pulp paper company in the Lowveld region of Mpumalanga South Africa.

With his background and experinece, Colin hopes to manage the Cloudy Bay FMA in a sustainable and responsible manner and develop its staff into a productive and progressive team. Productivity, profitability and sustainability will be focus areas in the coming years at the Cloudy Bay FMA.
